What is the cost of playing in the league?#

The cost of tackle football for early registration up to May 31st is $95. After this date, there will be an additional $20 charge.

What do the registration fees support?#

BAYAA is a non-profit organization. All of the registration cost goes directly back into the league. The league maintains a full supply of quality equipment, we contribute to the area schools to help maintain our practice facilities and pay for game day operations for officials and such. The game day jerseys are also supplied to each player to keep after the season.

Does every player need to attend skills day?#

Second year returning JV and second year returning varsity players will automatically be placed on last years team unless otherwise requested. These players need not attend skills day. All first year players, players moving up in divisions, or players requesting to return to the draft must attend. If a player is unable to attend skills day, they will be randomly placed on a team by drawing their name out of a hat on draft day.

How many days a week are practices?#

Practices are limited to a maximum of 3 - two hour sessions per week. It is up to a coaches discretion for less practice, but a total of six hours a week in 3 sessions is max. Once games start the maximum is 2 - two hour sessions plus game day.

What days of the week are practices?#

Coaches are scheduled set practice days at the beginning of the season based on their availability and the availibility of fields. All practices are scheduled after school hours Monday - Friday and anytime on Saturday.

Are there weight restrictions for players?#

In the JV level, skilled positions (those in an up position on offense, or those able to carry the football) must be no more than 90 lbs. At the Varsity level, skilled positions must be no more than 125 lbs.

Is all needed equipment provided to each player?#

The league provides the use of all equipment necessary to play football which includes: helmet, shoulder pads, 7-piece pad set, mouth piece, practice jersey, game and practice pants and a game jersey. The game jersey is yours to keep, all other equipment is returned after the season. It is recommended that each player have a pair of cleats.
